On the left tube, there is compression adjustment with 21 clicks of adjustment. On the right tube, there is rebound adjustment with 21 clicks of adjustment. Stock settings are 11 turns out from full hard in each tube. BMW specified 10w oil in this fork. The air shock is lame. The wheels are soft, but fine for most people (mine are still fine). Fuel range is typical for a 650 thumper and there are numerous options to extend to the range over 200 miles, depending how handy you are or how much you want to spend. A used X-Challenge may have much or all of this already addressed. Having had Woody just lace up some SM rims for my XChallenge, and after searching far and wide for a cheaper solution, there's unfortunately no real options aside from the $300+ per hub BMW part.
